Q: When is alpha
A: The alpha will run for 4 weeks starting from the 4th of June. If you got a spot in the test we will send you more information about how to download and play on June 4 so stay tuned!
Q: What will the Alpha build be like?
A: Having players test our game early on means a lot for us at Redhill. We already got great feedback during the small Friends & Family test, and we can’t wait to hear your thoughts in Alpha.
Please note that this is an early version of the game and it has some rough edges that will get smoothed out as we continue to work on it. In Alpha the focus is on core-gameplay, but we are still missing a lot of optimization and refinement. The game will be constantly improved as we move forward.
Environments and weapons are still getting visual polish and balancing, some menus are incomplete and can be tricky to navigate, crafting and progression systems are on their first iterations, character visuals are rough, and some of the visual language/VFX needs work. All of these issues are a priority for us.
Our focus in alpha is on the core gameplay, so there’s still a lot of optimization and refinement missing, which will improve over time as we continue development. This build has not been optimized for performance on lower-end machines yet, but the graphics settings can be adjusted, so if you encounter performance issues, we recommend scaling these back.
It may seem like a long list of disclaimers, but we believe in getting our game into gamers hands early. Ultimately, this will help in crafting the best game in the end. Please share your input on Nine to Five’s Discord or social media.
Q: Can I still sign up for the alpha
A: You can sign up for Nine to Five Alpha until Monday the 1st of June 10:00 GMT. After that date you can still join us in our Beta program or try to get in through special events happening during the Alpha testing. Sign up here: https://www.ninetofive.game/
A: This is a closed alpha and we do ask you to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement as well as confirm you are 18 or over. Capturing and sharing videos, screenshots, or live streams of the game is not allowed at this early stage. As the game evolves and we are closer to completion we would be delighted to have you share visual material of the game online. However, for now we ask you to kindly respect this rule, should you want to join the alpha test for Nine to Five. The full NDA will be available on June 4 in-game.
Q: Can I see gameplay?
A: Yes, watch the alpha gameplay trailer here: https://youtu.be/2fvhihBJNPI
Q: Where will you have servers during alpha
A: For Alpha we will have servers in two locations, Europe and North America. We are not going to put any limitations on people from other regions to come and join the alpha playtest. In such cases, your latency might get a hit, but by the numbers we get from our internal tests it seems that the situation should be pretty OK for the majority of regions. We will let you know before alpha if we decide to open servers in other regions besides Europe and NA as well.
Q: Which languages do you have in alpha
A: We currently support both English and Russian
Q: How big is the team / What is Redhill?
A: Nine to Five is Redhill’s first game. The company was founded in 2018 by Matias Myllyrinne, Milos Jerabek, Katya Dolgova and Mikko Uromo. The founders and many others at Redhill have worked together previously in big companies like Remedy, Wargaming, Bohemia Interactive etc. We are currently a team of 45 people and slowly growing. Our main office is in Helsinki, Finland and we have a smaller one in Nicosia, Cyprus. In addition, we have people working from home offices around the world.
The team is international with around 12 nationalities so far. We are still small for a PC game company, and we like to keep it very “family-like”. Of course, this means that we don’t have all the resources and perks of huge companies, so we hope you understand and bear with us as we work hard to develop Nine to Five.
Q: Will you work with content creators before/during/after alpha?
A: We are definitely interested in talking with creators and discussing potential partnerships and ways to collaborate in the future. If you are a content creator with a collaboration idea or you are interested in doing something with Nine to Five and Redhill in the future, please send a message with a link to your channel(s) to firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!
